“It attracts the opportunities for you. Own the right one & you will be owned by your future self.”

I was depressed, anxious, & frustrated during my higher secondary because I was living a life that wasn’t mine. Many of you have the same lifestyle where you’re not the owner.

It is your family, relatives, & the society.

Scoring good marks was never my choice but unfortunately, I was programmed to believe that it was the only path to a secure future. I wished to try out different things in my higher secondary but couldn’t.

Everything was revolving around that Life style itself.

But circumstances changes, when I leave my home and came to the college. Studying in the college was not my priority but somehow it proves to be fruitful.

The college lifestyle, taught me more than the academic syllabus.

I learn to make friends, wash my own plate, cope up with the pressure of studying a night before the exams. Improved social skills like speaking, listening, & adapting.

It’s always your lifestyle that pull the opportunities for you.

Hence, build the one that you want to live.

The 4 Pillars of Life:

In the first year of my college; I started with running, followed by reading, writing, & documenting.

I wanted to change my lifestyle so badly that I choose running for exercise. Later, I became aware that when you delve into one thing deeply then the other areas of life counters you.

Suppose you become physically fit but now you need something to grow mentally. You need something to grow spiritually. You need someone to whom you can share. You need the source of income to fund those areas of the life.

Therefore, it is necessary to build the all pillars for a healthy lifestyle:

1)        Health:

Health is wealth. Everyone has heard of it & it’s true.

Health is associated with all the pillars of life. Physical health, financial health, mental health, and relationship health.

I can argue on this topic the whole day long, but let’s see how we can fix it. Let me share one of my image when i started my running. You can see how thin and lean i was:

Steps that you can inhale to improve health:

  1. Choose one goal - What do you want to fix? Do you want to lose weight (start running). Do you want to gain muscles (then lift weights). Do you want to relax your mind(meditation). Do you want to be flexible (yoga).

  1. Start small – You don’t need to rush. Believe me. Start small (15 min a day) for 21 days. See if it suits you, if not then pivot at that moment. Try other exercises. Remember it’s a battle between your older self & the future self. It takes time to reform yourself.

Ø  Incorporate your vision – Now start planning to schedule those 15 min of health improvement with the vision of your life.

 

2)        Wealth

Wealth is a broader term, but I’m referring to the money.

Money is a tool which can be used to grow the vessel of life. You always need a skill to earn money.

If you think you’re not skillful then you are wrong.

How did I earned a few bucks with the skill that I never care about? That skill was to teach. Yes, I am good at teaching. So, I leverage that skill to fund the other areas of my Life. I ask myself how to earn, so that I don’t have to ask from my parents. Teaching was the only skill in hand at that time.

Likewise, you can work in a restaurant, coffee shop, coaching center & whatever you want.

  • Learn a skill – You don’t need to learn a high-income skill that will take time to make money. Just be ready with what you have already. Teaching can be the best options for the college students.

  • Invest your earnings – You’re earning not to become rich but to fund your initial goals. Fund to buy books, to join gym membership, to learn high income skills, and the freedom to shape your college years.

3)        Relationship

I’m not talking about the relationship with your parents, friends, girlfriend or boyfriend.

The relationship with yourself. There could be many factors which makes you feel incomplete. First, learn to manage it.

I suffered through intense anxiety during my childhood. That blocks everything back then, I was not able to connect with my deeper self. When you are unable to function in the present moment then you could never know what it means to be free, creative, & fulfilled.

The steps that you can inhale to improve your relationship are:

  1. Study yourself - Observe your reactions every time someone puts you down. Don’t run from the feelings that hits you when you are alone. Accept that you need healing to free yourself from the baggage of past pain. It’s the unconscious part holding you. You need to take care of it, & bring it into the light of consciousness to heal.

  2. Read Therapy books – You must read books that can teach you about the fundamentals of psychology behind your abnormal behavior, mood swings, and the inability to connect with your deeper self.

Awareness helps you to spot the dark side which is somewhere in your unconscious mind.

You need to be very attentive and cautious about the traps for not acknowledging your true self. It’s like uncovering and accepting your raw version, which is very painful.

4)        Spirituality

When you view the three pillars with the spiritual lens, that’s when you become fulfilled & happy.

Spirituality filters the unreal part from the 4 pillars.

The core of the spirituality is to seek truth, to know who you are. That helps to dilute the egoic, selfish, & unconscious part of you. That’s when you emerged as a whole. You become more creative, energetic, and vibrant in life.

Happiness becomes your primary nature.

Steps to get into the path of the spirituality:

  1. The importance of the present moment – learn to operate more in the present moment. Avoid gatherings, and prioritize alone time. This will help you to discover who you had become at the core. Gratitude is the key to unlock the present moment.

    Feel more, connect more, & be free from all the sufferings that takes you away from the present moment.

Creativity is interlinked with the present moment. Creativity is when you create with total presence.

  1. Total acceptance – Total acceptance of who you are, is the gate way to enter the realm of the spirituality. Total acceptance kills your ego, which is the main factor for keeping you away from your true self. Ego act as a barrier between your social self and the true self.

    Total acceptance is no joke. You have to kill your mental self which shapes your current identity. There comes the time when I become frustrated of my own self.

So, accept yourself completely.

The 4 pillars are interconnected with each other. A balanced life demands the contribution from all the pillars. Do, I follow this principle myself – the answer is yes.

My daily routines look like:

Ø  Health – Gym, walking

Ø  Wealth – Tutoring, investment

Ø  Relationship – Introspecting daily, journaling

Ø  Spirituality – Meditation, chanting

Maintaining a lifestyle is all about connecting and tuning with your higher self. Everything has a vibration with certain frequencies. So, if you only think, then you can never attract the desired outcome. You must become that person to attract it. Life style is the correct way to attract that outcome. A balanced lifestyle will attract fast. I see people complaining without improving their way of living.

I believed that my readers won’t do that and focus on practical applications of life.
